De la Vega
From a very young age, I knew the guitar would be my path. I studied in Seville, completing the Bachelor’s degree in classical guitar under the guidance of Francisco Cantón — a period that gave me both the solid foundation and the discipline I needed to grow as a performer. Later, my journey took me to Barcelona, where I had the privilege of studying with Álex Garrobé and completing the Master’s degree in Performance at ESMUC.
But my curiosity reached beyond the strings. I was always drawn to the world of flamenco dance — its strength, its rhythm, its way of turning emotion into movement. That fascination led me to train in that art form as well, until I discovered a very personal form of expression: playing the guitar while dancing, bringing both arts together in one language. Today, my performance seeks precisely that: a dialogue between sound and body, between tradition and my own artistic quest.

The cello first entered my life through Claudio R. Baraviera, my first teacher and the one who opened the door to this vast sonic universe. I went on to study classical cello at the Conservatory in Seville, and later specialized in early music by completing a Master’s degree at ESMUC in Barcelona. That training gave me a deep connection to tradition and to the expressive richness of string instruments.
But my curiosity always pushed me to explore other paths. I was drawn to flamenco guitar, studying with masters such as Miguel Ángel Cortés, Melchor Chico, and Daniel Cortés. From those experiences, a unique desire was born: to bring the language of flamenco into the cello, giving the instrument a new voice, one capable of conversing with both song and dance in its own distinctive timbre.
Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of performing with artists such as Pilar Astola and Rocío Márquez, and I am also the co-founder of Hispano, a project where my passions converge and where I continue to explore the meeting point of musical worlds that may seem distant, but ultimately share the same heartbeat.
